Peter Aviles, Jr.
April 6,1957 to January 20, 2025
Peter Aviles, Jr. was born on 4/6/57 to his parents Peter Aviles, Sr. and Emily Delgado Aviles (Deceased). God welcomed him home on January 20, 2025.
Peter was raised in Azusa, California by his father, Peter Aviles, Sr. Peter dearly loved his father and they spent most of their time together. They both have always been motorcycle enthusiasts and went to many motorcycle events from the events held at Follows Camp in Azusa Canyon to going to the annual Sturgis rally in South Dakota. The two of them always looked forward to going to Sturgis just about every year for many, many years. You would rarely see one without the other around town. Over the years they became belovedly known as "Pete" and "Repeat". He will be deeply missed by his father.
Peter had a real enthusiasm for life and had many interests. He was a musician and performed in many bands starting at Junior High School age, playing at Roller City, and continuing on throughout his life and made many good life-time friends throughout his years of playing music and jamming with them. Peter was always in his most relaxed and happy mood strumming a guitar in the living room. He developed an interest in playing the Ukulele and enjoyed giving birthday greetings by singing and playing a Birthday song with his Ukulele. Peter loved to surf and snow ski. While attending Cal Poly, he worked as an EMT at Mount Baldy as a ski patrol. He was a very good skier. He was a good photographer and took pictures for the Azusa Herald and other newspapers. His love of Photography allowed him to get entrance into many events with his "News Photo West" press pass. Peter enjoyed photographing concerts, drag races, boat races, celebrity events, weddings and many other events. Peter loved taking pictures and took pictures everywhere he went. He always had a camera, ipad or cellphone with him and was constantly taking pictures. Peter was on the tennis team while attending Gladstone High School. Peter worked as a carpenter for many years. He once built, staffed and ran a haunted house, using his skills.
Peter loved all of his Aunts, Uncles and Cousins very much and really enjoyed organizing family get- togethers, lunches and family reunions. He loved spending time with his family and keeping in touch with them on the phone. He was very loved and will be missed very much by all of them.
Peter first met his life partner, of thirty-five years, Deborah Dutter, while attending Mountain View Elementary School in Azusa. He was very loved by all of his family with Deborah and was lovingly, referred to by his nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews as Uncle "Tig" or "Tiggy". Deborah and the whole family will miss him very much.
Peter loved keeping in touch with his friends and everyone he knew and always tried to inspire and encourage everyone he knew to try new things and to focus on the positive side of life. He always referred to happy times as his "Aloha" mood and would try to cheer someone up by texting them an "Aloha", "Tiki" or a "surfboard". He loved to talk and was genuinely interested in catching up with what was going on in all of his friends and family's lives. He could strike up a conversation with anyone he met and have a conversation on just about any subject.
Peter was a bit of a cat whisperer. He will be missed by his cats Patches, Sargie and Paleface and his Dad's cats Hurley, Zoom Zoom and Orange Julius.
He was very loved and will be missed very much by everyone he knew.
"Aloha" Peter- Rest Easy, Now you rest in God's Hands
