Peter J. Bormann died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Peter was born on August 6, 1958, in Syracuse, New York to Robert and Terrie Bormann. He grew up in Syracuse, New York and later moved to Minnetonka, Minnesota where he graduated from Lindbergh High School and the University of St. Thomas. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, uncle, and friend who touched many lives. He was a devout Catholic and servant of God throughout his life, serving as a Sacristan, Eucharistic Minister, and Co-Chair of the St. Francis Rectory Committee. He volunteered at the nursing home and hospital, distributing Holy Communion and saying prayers with patients. He looked so forward to attending annual retreats at the Demontreville Jesuit Retreat House each year on Father’s Day, with his father and brother.
Peter’s warm, friendly and hospitable personality drew others to him. He was a patient, kind man with a generous heart, and his desire was to help others in any way that he could. He had a smile that would light up a room. He believed that loving God and loving others is life’s most important asset.
He was preceded in death by his mother Terrie, father Robert, brother Paul, and son Christopher.
He is survived by his wife Lynn, former wife Susan, brother Bob, sister Kathleen McIntyre, children Kelly, Michael, and Lisa (Alex), niece Madelyn McIntyre, and nephews Justin Bormann and Mason McIntyre.
The funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd, MN on Friday, September 26 at 11:00 a.m., with viewing one hour prior to the Mass. Internment will take place on Saturday, September 27 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Foley, MN.
