Peter James Bouchard, a lifelong resident of Pepperell, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Ruth (Woods) Bouchard, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage.

Peter was a graduate of Pepperell High School, Class of 1959. Throughout his life, he was known as a hard worker and a true jack-of-all-trades. He proudly owned and operated his own business for several years alongside a lifelong friend and later worked for many years at Bemis Bag Company.

Peter and Ruth also spent six cherished years working the land at Peter’s uncle’s 200-acre blueberry farm in Huntington, Massachusetts, a place that became deeply loved by the family and filled with lasting memories.

An avid animal lover, Peter had a special bond with his dogs Misty, Charlie, Sadie, and his beloved rescue pup, Rebel. He absolutely loved and adored Rebel, who was fiercely protective of him, and the two shared many cherished moments snuggled together in his chair. Peter was rarely seen without one of his dogs by his side. Many will fondly remember seeing him down by the creek with Misty, happily tossing rocks for her to retrieve. He also dearly loved his miniature horse, Fiona, often found sitting beneath his tree, brushing her or giving one of his great-grandchildren a joyful ride.

Peter had a deep love for the Fryeburg Fair, especially spending hours at the pulling barn watching the pulling horses, where he could always be found.

Peter will be remembered as a sweet, kind, and gentle man, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Peter is survived by his devoted wife, Ruth (Woods) Bouchard; his daughter, Susan Quinn of Townsend and her husband, David Quinn; his grandchildren, Jeremy Quinn, Jerod Quinn, Carrieanne Villandry, Courtney Bouchard, and Gregory Bouchard; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Katherine Bouchard of Pepperell, and her life partner William Charles “Bo” Bosley, as well as his son Peter James Bouchard Jr.
