Peter P. R. Catarella, 73, of Mashpee, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Peter was born and grew up in the Bronx where he worked as a cab driver so he could pay his way through college. He acquired his Masters degree from NYU and worked as a clothing buyer for his entire career. As a buyer, he was lucky enough to be able to travel the world. He especially loved spending time with his wife, kids and grandkids. He had a love for music and was accepted into the Narragansett Men's Choir. He was a wonderful piano player and also loved the challenge of a great crossword puzzle.
Peter was the beloved husband of Gail Catarella of Mashpee, loving father of his son Christopher Catarella of Weymouth, Carissa Tigano of Easton, Kyla Rymaszewski and her husband Josh of Hanover, Felicia Liles and her husband Kenneth of Virginia, loving step-father of Paul Rubera and his wife Christine of Plymouth, Michael Rubera and his wife Julie of Kingston, and Renee Minton and her husband Richard of Pembroke, cherished grandfather of Markie and Jocelyn Tigano, Joshua Rymaszewski, Kenneth Peter Liles, Shelby and Mikey Rubera, Nicholas and Nathan Rubera and Sean Minton and the loving brother of Janice Burriesci and her husband Donald of New York.
Visitation at the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington Street (Rt 53), Hanover, will be held on Thursday March 6, 2025 from 4 PM to 7 PM. A funeral mass at Our Lady of the Angels Parish (St. Mary's Church), 392 Hanover Street, Hanover will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 10 AM. Burial will remain private.

Condolences for the loss of Peter. I work with Peter at Bradlees. He always had a smile on his face was nice and a hard worker. Even though he was a yankee fan we let him play coed softball with us. Those were the days!!!

Sincere condolences to Peter's family from a friend from the gym and Narragansett Bay Chorus. I enjoyed spending time working out with Peter, many mornings at Northeast Health and Fitness in Weymouth.
One morning he heard me humming in the locker room and we started talking about his interest in singing, which soon led to his membership in the Narragansett Bay Chorus in Providence. He spent several years singing and enjoying the special comradery in the men's chorus, including a performance in Kansas City in 2011.
