Peter "Pete" Herbert Damron, Sr., age 74, husband of Mary Damron, and a resident of Pulaski, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, at VA Tennessee Valley Medical Center in Nashville.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with military honors provided by the United States Army. A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on June 8, 1948, in Waukegan, Illinois, Pete was the son of the late Herbert Damron and the late Chloa Chirolas Damron. He served two tours in the United States Army where he earned a Purple Heart in Vietnam. He also served two years in the United States Marine Corps. Pete married Mary Myers in December of 1970. He worked in manufacturing most of his adult career, working for Frito Lay for fourteen years. Pete especially enjoyed motorcycles.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Alex) Stojanovich of Illinois, Tabitha (Chris) Parker of Pulaski, TN, brother, William (Carol) Damron of Florida, sisters, Mary Ann (Denis) Harbison of Illinois, Debra Powell of Wisconsin, grandchildren, Krissy Gregg, Mike (Jessica) Stojanovich, Ashley Self, Nik (Kristina) Stojanovich, Taylor (Drew) Dickey, Pete Damron, Caylee Parker, great grandchildren, Luka Stojanovich, Parker Dickey, Sasa Stojanovich, "Baby S", Isaiah Gregg, Ava Gregg, Bryson Self, Paisley Self, Lexie, Jason, Macie, and Zachary Rodman, special cousin, Allen Lelo, and numerous nieces, nephews, and sisters in law.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Peter Herbert Damron, Jr., and sister, Sandy Hanner.
