Peter O. Davis, 83, passed away peacefully in his home in Billerica Massachusetts on December 22nd, 2023. He is preceded in death by his brothers William Davis and Kenneth Davis, as well as a sister Ora Macinanti and survived by his adoring wife of 57 years, Donna Davis, their daughter April Champa and two grandchildren, Kaylee and Jake Champa. He is also survived by three sisters, Cynthia Tivnan, Kate Svoboda and Karen Grasier, and one brother, Michael Davis, as well as a loving sister and brother-in-law Candy Moore and Jerry Coleman, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Peter was born in Foxboro, MA and served in the Air Force for two years as an aircraft mechanic at Westover Air Force Base. He then worked as a CDL driver for most of his life, and was able to obtain his GED and multiple wastewater engineering certifications at the age of 59. He then worked for O&M Inc. as an environmental technician until his retirement.
Peter was a man of many hobbies and interests and could fascinate anyone with his extensive knowledge about seemingly endless subjects. He was a voracious reader, memorizing Alfred Noyes, Robert Frost and Edgar Allen Poe and reciting them to his grandchildren. His talents and interests included shotgun sports, photography, art, woodworking, gardening, and crossword puzzles. His knowledge ranged from the development of neanderthals to horticulture of roses and fruits, to the mysteries of the universe. His friends can attest he was also an avid skeet shooter at the Lowell Sportsmen's Club, and previously enjoyed shooting sporting clays at SKAT in New Ipswich, NH, attending as long as his illness would allow.
Peter was the type of person that would help anyone in need. He was a generous man and a loving husband, father and grandfather who always expressed his love through his words of admiration and encouragement of his loved ones aspirations. His legacy will live on in the passing on of his thirst for learning and love of knowledge to the next two generations. He enjoyed spending time in his garden and watching the birds with his beloved wife by his side and a cup of coffee in his hand.
The celebration of his life will be held on January 27, 2024 from 1pm-4pm at The First Church of Christ Congregational, 25 The Great Road, Bedford MA 01730
Donations in his memory may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children at lovetotherescue.org

Pete lived at my parents house for quite awhile when I was a teenager. He drove a truck and would be gone for days at a time. He would call me up from the kitchen phone to my bedroom phone trying to be funny. He would come home from trucking and me and my mother would be watching tv and he would shut it off and start singing calipso music. Couldn´t get mad at him he was so funny! He taught me some techniques on drawing. He was a good artist

So, so sorry to hear this sad news. Always enjoyed listening to Pete at the Westford Sportsmen´s Club. He told us one time that he´d spent three days in his truck on Route 128 during the Blizzard of `78. Even had a picture on the front page of the Globe. Wish I´d known he could recite Poe. I would have put him on the spot. He´ll be missed.
