Our sincerest condolences to Pat, Mitzi, Paul and Cassandra. We will all miss Pete but all that can be said is that Peter is proof of the Life Everlasting. It is impossible to conceive of Peter Dito's spirit ever dying. We had a great rainy, snowy trip to Death Valley, rebuilt earthquake damaged walls, talked about hopping a freight train together, and had tons of fun together. I was the one who talked him into applying at SPPL. I thought the railroad connection would somehow facilitate hopping the freight train. I just learned that he had already done that eight years before but he never let on and let me think it was all my idea. SPPL or no SPPL, we never got close to executing that idea.
I could talk for days how great a friend and person Peter Dito was, I'm just comforted by the fact I know his spirit will always be with us.

Pete and I hopped a freight train in Spokane in 1964 and rode to Portland. He had someone bring his Honda 50 scooter to Portland then tried to drive it to SF but it blew up on the way. The trip to Portland had many setbacks which I could share with someone if they had any interest. Pete was one unique enjoyable guy. Lucky for me that I got to know him..Dennis Mayer

Oh Pete, you will be missed.
Loved your sense of humor and always so fun when you were around. So glad I got to know you and Pat at the Italian club. You leave a huge legacy behind. May you rest in peace, gone too soon.
