Beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, with his family by his side at Cranberry Park of Milford, Michigan. He was 87 years old. Peter Dominguez was born on January 31, 1938, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Marcial and Belen (Pisano) Dominguez. He was a 1957 graduate of Ss. Peter & Paul High School and Ferris State University. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1961, until his honorable discharge in 1963. Peter married the love of his life, Isabella Louise Methner on September 16, 1961; she preceded him in death on November 15, 2021.
He was employed with General Motors - Malleable Iron and Reliable Printing in Saginaw. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, uncle, grandfather and caregiver. His grandchildren made his heart feel full and he treasured and loved them dearly. He was a lifelong and faithful member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, and attended various churches within St. Dominic Parish. He loved his 18 years of volunteering at Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center. He enjoyed working in his garden and reading. An avid sports fan, Peter was loyal to his favorite teams: Detroit Lions, Notre Dame football, Michigan State basketball and attended Michigan State football games for 33 years. He will be remembered for making people feel welcome and his knowledge of Saginaw and James Township.
He is survived by three children: Ed (Teri) Dominguez, Anne Pence, Paul (Julie) Dominguez; two grandchildren: Ethan (Daniela) Dominguez and Logan (Liz) Dominguez. Also surviving are many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Isabella Dominguez; brothers Bonifacio, Ysaac, Jose, Angel, Frank, Phillip, Carl, George, Lupe; sisters Mary, Lucy, Sarah and Virginia.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staffs at Independence Village, Corsocare, DMC Huron Valley Sinai and Cranberry Park of Milford for the care they provided to Peter.
A funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFM Cap will officiate. Rite of Committal and military honors will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery under the auspices of the United States Army and American Legion Post #22. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Habitat for Humanity, Saginaw.
