Peter L. Gilbertson
Peter was born on August 25, 1961, in Fargo, ND, and died August 9, 2025, unexpectedly at his home in Rochester, MN, although he had experience poor health since the covid epidemic.
Peter served his country, with 4 years in the Marine Corps. He was a proud Marine.
Peter had business degrees from both Winona State and Tennessee Tech. He spent several years in Tennessee before returning to the Midwest and moving to Rochester. Perter was a quick wit, always ready with a bad joke with a big smile on his face. There was nothing better than a surprise party for anyone. He and his humor will be sorely missed.
Peter is survived by his father, Robert Gilbertson of Winona; sister, Julie (Gilbertson) Lyons; brother-in-law, Rick Lyons of Rochester; son, Alex Gilbertson of Madison, WI; daughter, Terra (Dan) Smith of Lantana, TX; granddaughter, Charlotte; and grandson, Connor.
Peter was preceded in death by his mother, Erika Gilbertson or Winona.
Per his wish there will be no service and interment will be immediate family only.
Hoff Celebration of Life center is assisting the family.
