Peter Michael Holleran, age 82, a longtime resident of Concord, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2024, after a brief illness.
Born on December 21, 1941, Pete grew up in Westfield, Massachusetts, where he met his future wife, Candace, while attending high school at the Williston Northampton School. After he graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, they moved to their house on Brooks Street in Concord, where they raised their two daughters.
After retiring from his career as a polymer chemist, you could find Pete taking his daily walks around town, spending countless hours constructing his elaborate model train room, or sitting on the porch doing crossword puzzles and listening to his favorite 50s hits on the radio while enjoying a ham and cheese sandwich on white bread with a side of Chips Ahoy cookies.
Pete is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Candace Holleran; daughters Katherine Holleran and Michael Loutraris of Newton, MA and Julia (Holleran) del Sobral and Daniel del Sobral of Concord, MA; older brother John Holleran of FL/VT; niece Megan Holleran of VT/FL; and grandsons, Nicholas and William del Sobral.
A private celebration of life will be held in his honor.
