Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cartmell-Davis Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc. - Main Office on Sep. 23, 2024.
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Peter Alan Kearney who passed away in Japan surrounded by friends and family after a long courageous battle on September 16, 2024, at the age of 67.
He leaves behind his devoted, loving wife Chie Kearney, who was by his side, spending many hours at the hospital taking care of him during his illness.
He is survived by his daughter Michelle (Kearney) Mimms and her husband Derrick, his son Daniel Kearney, and his granddaughter Breeann Simpson his sister Jane Ellis and her husband Peter, his brother Donald Kearney and his wife Lucinda and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph Kearney, his mother Agnes Kearney and his brother Stephen Kearney, and his wife Elaine.
Peter graduated in 1975 from Hingham High School. He spent three years in the USMC and then moved to Japan in 1992, where he worked many years on the Iwakuni Naval Air Base for NavAir. He loved going to work and met many co-workers that became part of his family. He was a jokester and provided everyone he met with a laugh and left them smiling.
A graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 10:45 am at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne.

Too soon he left to travel
Beyond where we can see
But it´s all about the journey
Forever riding free.

Rest In Peace Pete
My heartfelt condolences to his family.
