Peter C. Lawrence

Peter Charles Lawrence, age 69, of Hampstead, North Carolina, passed away after a long battle with heart disease and a recent cancer diagnosis while at South County Hospital in Rhode Island in the early morning hours on September 29th, 2025. He was surrounded by his family as he passed away peacefully.
Pete is survived by his wife Marianne Lawrence of Narragansett, R.I.; daughter Rebecca Franklin and her husband Larry Franklin of Wilmington, N.C.; son Edward Lawrence of Narragansett, R.I.; daughter Charlotte Lawrence of Narragansett, R.I.; and his best furry friends, dog Toby & cat Slinky.
Pete was born in Germany and came to America at age 5. He attended Stuyvesant High School in New York City until 1974. He later graduated with an Associate's degree while working for Verizon in Queens, New York. In 2012, after 21 years as an installation and repair technician, he retired to North Carolina where he made his home in Hampstead. Over the course of his life, Pete never met a person he couldn't talk to and loved encouraging people to be the best version of themselves by discussing his 30 years of clean time at every appropriate opportunity. He was a proud American with an extensive cowboy boot and hat collection to go with his undying love for his country.
