Peter Leung Obituary
Peter Leung was born Leung Siu Kay in Hoksan, China to Leung Yee Yau and Lee Shun Mui in 1943. The second of seven brothers, he cultivated a variety of interests, which included artmaking, cooking, gardening, country music, singing karaoke, playing the harmonica, creating miniature dioramas depicting tranquil suburban neighborhoods, and over 40+ years sharpened a passion and expertise in top of the line hi-fi audio equipment.
Additionally, he developed a deep computer fluency, becoming something of a guru to friends who routinely turned to him for this or that computer question or problem. After serving in the US Army during the Vietnam years, he taught mathematics, ultimately retiring as a widely revered AP Calculus teacher at Newtown High School in Elmhurst, Queens.
Peter is survived by his wife Grace and older son Ken, and will rest beside his beloved younger son Kevin.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday at Frost Woods Memorial Park Cemetery located at 336 New Brunswick Avenue East Brunswick, New Jersey 08816.
