Peter Matson Obituary

Peter was born in Fitchburg, March 20, 1975, the son of the Linda J. (Oja) Matson and the late Peter A. Matson and was a lifelong Townsend resident.
He was a 1993 graduate of North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend where he played basketball and ran cross country track. He continued his education at University of Massachusetts – Amherst where, in 1997, he received a bachelors degree in Biology.
While attending UMass he played Rugby and was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his mother of Townsend, Peter leaves his son, Jaxon A. Matson of Townsend; his sister and brother in law, Caroline R. and Marty Drummond of Ashby; several aunts and uncles including David & Cheryl Oja of Greenville, NH, Daniel and Sandra Oja of Falmouth, Jonathan Matson of Beaver, Utah, Tim & Linda Matson and Stephen Matson of all of Fitchburg, Susana nd David Tate of Leominster and David Matson of Myrtle Beach, SC as well as his two nieces, Megan J. Drummond and Heather E. Drummond.
A graveside service will be held 11 AM Monday, December 19, 2022 at Riverside Cemetery, Dudley Road, West Townsend.

We have been neighbors for 35 years, and watched PJ and our children grow up in Townsend together ... his generosity (and Victory Garden Green Thumb) will be missed ... save us a spot, Pete.
