Peter McCabe Obituary

FORKS TOWNSHIP Peter "Pete" R McCabe, 37, of Forks Township, passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 3, 2022. Pete was born April 3, 1985 in New York City, NY, to Natalie McCabe (Ranieri) and Robert McCabe. Although he was born in NY, he grew up from a very young age in Forks Township, Easton, PA, and graduated from Easton Area High School, class of 2003. He received a B.S. degree in English Education from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, Charleston in 2007 and a M.S. degree in Education Development and Strategies from Wilkes University in 2011. Pete was employed by the Easton Area School District. During his teaching career at the Easton Area Middle School and most recently at the Easton Area High School, he earned additional certifications in Mathematics and Science (7-9) and Social Studies and Biology (7-12). He was a natural born teacher with an ability to communicate with students at all levels, sharing his love of literature, history and science while helping students learn how to apply their knowledge to grow as young adults. He was honored to be a part of all Easton Area traditions –marching band events, sleepout before the traditional Turkey Day game, AAG, post prom and graduation – and worked tirelessly to keep those traditions alive for the next generation. In memory of his maternal grandfather, he was a faithful fan of the NY Giants and NY Yankees. He made everyone laugh with his impersonations, corny jokes and dialects to match any cartoon character. But most of all, he was a brother and friend to so many who cherished his friendship and immeasurable acts of kindness. He will be profoundly missed by his mother, who beamed with pride in his presence, his forever love and partner, Jen McLaughlin, her daughters, Adriana and Emily, his sister, Beth McCabe, extended family Jennifer (McCabe) Carlson and Michael McCabe, aunt and cousins, beloved neighbors, his other family within the Easton Area School District and his Citadel Regimental Band cadets. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Sam and Elizabeth Ranieri, and paternal grandparents, Basil and Lorraine McCabe. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM followed by a memorial service at the Morello Funeral Home, Inc. 3720 Nicholas St., Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Center of Animal Health and Welfare, www.healthyanimalcenter.org. Online condolences may be offered at www.morellofuneralhome.com. Sending all my love, thoughts, and prayers to the loved ones and closed friends of Mr. McCabe. I am absolutely heartbroken. He was my American Literature teacher who made me want to come to school. He was a unique soul, and you could tell he took so much pride in teaching. When thinking of who I should ask to write my college letter of recommendation, I thought of Mr. McCabe immediately. And I´m very glad and honored that he did. I will never forget his impact he had on me at EAHS. His legacy will carry on forever.

Mr. McCabe was my teacher for one class that met every other day for one semester, but still remembered my name and said "hello" to me in the hallway everyday until graduation day. My condolences to the family.

Pete, though I only knew you for a few years, it was a pleasure to speak with you at school and to just know you as a colleague and friend. I will miss the conversations we had but will always remember them. Rest In Peace.

Beth, my heart aches for you and your family. So many band memories among others from high school. Sounds like Pete gave everything back as a teacher that we could all aspire to in our lives and careers, as he clearly wanted students to have the experiences and pride now as he did back in the day. You all are in my thoughts. EAHS `01

I am very very sorry for your loss and I wish all of you the absolute best. Mr. McCabe was my teacher for two years. He was my favorite teacher and made my high school experience so incredible with his jokes, advice, and everything he taught me. He loved all of his students and would do anything for them. He was a great teacher and friend. I will always remember the impact he made on my high school experience and my life. My condolences to the whole family and everyone affected.
