Sending all my love, thoughts, and prayers to the loved ones and closed friends of Mr. McCabe. I am absolutely heartbroken. He was my American Literature teacher who made me want to come to school. He was a unique soul, and you could tell he took so much pride in teaching. When thinking of who I should ask to write my college letter of recommendation, I thought of Mr. McCabe immediately. And I´m very glad and honored that he did. I will never forget his impact he had on me at EAHS. His legacy will carry on forever.

Mr. McCabe was my teacher for one class that met every other day for one semester, but still remembered my name and said "hello" to me in the hallway everyday until graduation day. My condolences to the family.

Pete, though I only knew you for a few years, it was a pleasure to speak with you at school and to just know you as a colleague and friend. I will miss the conversations we had but will always remember them. Rest In Peace.

Beth, my heart aches for you and your family. So many band memories among others from high school. Sounds like Pete gave everything back as a teacher that we could all aspire to in our lives and careers, as he clearly wanted students to have the experiences and pride now as he did back in the day. You all are in my thoughts. EAHS `01

I am very very sorry for your loss and I wish all of you the absolute best. Mr. McCabe was my teacher for two years. He was my favorite teacher and made my high school experience so incredible with his jokes, advice, and everything he taught me. He loved all of his students and would do anything for them. He was a great teacher and friend. I will always remember the impact he made on my high school experience and my life. My condolences to the whole family and everyone affected.
