Peter A. McLaughlin

Peter A. McLaughlin, age 40, died unexpectedly on January 5, 2023. Peter was the devoted father of Charlotte A. McLaughlin of East Bridgewater and loyal son of Kevin and Sheila (Morse) McLaughlin of East Bridgewater. He was the beloved brother of Jennifer L. Cortes and her husband Godofredo Cortes of Bridgewater and his twin, the late Paul McLaughlin. Peter, Paul, and Jennifer had an unbreakable bond. The passing of Paul was devastating to Peter. Those who knew them, especially the Winter Street Crew, knew they were inseparable and shared the same kind heartedness. Peter was the loving uncle of Isaiah, Jack and Levi Cortes. Adored grandson of Bridget McLaughlin of Florida and Phyllis Heffernan of East Bridgewater. Peter was the former spouse and dearest friend of Amy T. Giampietro of East Bridgewater. Peter helped raise his beloved daughter and was always there for her two brothers, Matthew and Dillon Flynn.
Peter was a graduate of East Bridgewater High School, Class of 2001. Peter was a gifted general contractor and owned McLaughlin Doors and Windows, servicing most of Massachusetts. If Peter were to write his resume today you would see a very long list of addresses where he spent time fixing or building things.
Peter was known for being a kind and loving soul, he would do anything for those he loved. As his daughter Charlotte would say, "If dad can't fix it, no one can." Peter would literally do anything for anybody. It was not uncommon for him to work all week then enjoy a motorcycle ride on the weekends with his friends. As an avid motorcycle enthusiast he loved being on his Harley, attending Laconia each summer, and enjoyed short rides with his beloved Charlotte on the back. Being with Charlotte was always the best part of his day. He loved every minute with her and seeing her smile. Whether it was going to Starbucks or a shopping spree at Target their connection was unbreakable. He spent the summers outside with Charlotte, her brothers, and his nephews, splashing in the pool and grilling.
The highlight of each summer was Fourth of July where he would be in his glory surrounded by family and friends as he put on memorable fireworks displays. His family loved his energy, sense of humor, and most importantly his kind heartedness. He will be missed by all who knew him.
