Peter Metz

The only brother that I will ever have in this life, Peter Metz, gave up this earthly existence on October 8, 2025. Born on April 21, 1956 in Stuttgart Germany, he was the third child of Heinrich N., and Maria Lampert Metz and soon found his forever home in America, with the family eventually settling in Beach Lake. After graduation from Honesdale High School, class of 1974, he entered the construction trades and honed his craft becoming a discriminating finish carpenter, with over 100 kitchens to his credit. But it was only after joining a custom chair manufacturer did he discover his talent in creating and building extensive chairs that ended up in many prestigious institutions such as The Library of Congress, Harvard University, and many upscale businesses. His greatest triumph in life though was his two children, Dylan Metz and Chelsey Metz. And by securing their love and watching them blossom into the adults they are today, he was blessed with the most vital necessity in anyone's life!

Peter is survived by his children, Chelsey Metz and Dylan Metz; his only sister Ingrid Lukan (husband Ron); his only brother Guenter Metz (wife Paula Jean); nephew Alexander Metz (wife Stephanie); niece Christine Siemers (husband Shawn); nephew Michael Lukan (wife Stephanie); nephew Stephen Lukan (wife Alison).

The entire family of Peter wishes to thank the Staff and Doctors of Wayne Memorial for their unwavering diligence, compassion, and dedication in making Peters final days comfortable. We will never forget it!

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 13th at Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale at 6 pm. The family will receive friends on Monday, 4 until the time of service.
