Peter Moretti, III, 70, of Ellington, beloved husband of 47 years to Carol (Sullivan) Moretti, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 27, 2024. He was born on December 30, 1953, in Hartford, one of three children to Peter and Pearl (Harris) Moretti.
Peter grew up in Bloomfield and was a graduate of Bloomfield High School, Class of 1973. In October of 1977, he married the love of his life, Carol, and they began their life together. In 1978, they relocated to Ellington where they have resided since. Peter was employed as a construction supervisor for over 15 years with Juliano's Pools in Vernon before his retirement, making lasting friendships along the way. As a young boy, he always enjoyed being outdoors learning how to hunt and fish. He was a longtime member of both the Rockville Fish and Game Club and the Hartford Surf Fishing Club, being named Fisherman of the Year in 1988. Peter was a jack of all trades and used his skills to help many family members, friends and customers with everyday tasks. Although he loved his time outdoors, his true joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his beloved granddaughters.
In addition to his wife and parents, Peter is survived by his daughter, Nicole Petracca and her husband Frank of Ellington; his two granddaughters, Lily and Isabel; as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Peter was predeceased by his two sisters, Debra Ann Moretti and Susan Moretti.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd. (Rte 83) in Vernon. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 4, beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home and burial will follow in Ellington Center Cemetery.
