In Loving Memory of Peter James O'Keefe

Peter James O'Keefe, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on January 31, 2024, in Simpsonville, SC, at the age of 80. Born on November 12, 1943, in Brooklyn, NY, Peter was the son of Irish immigrants, John and Eileen O'Keefe.

Peter began his career by serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Wasp. After his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1967, he married his wife of 48 years, Margaret "Peggy" Aldag O'Keefe. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree at St. Francis College in New York and upon graduation began a career with Xerox Corporation. Peter lived with his wife and children in Queens, NY, until transferring to Greenville, SC, to continue his career in sales with Xerox and other companies.

Before his decline, Peter enjoyed running, hiking, travel, and time at the beach.

He is survived by two daughters, Meg Larcinese of Roswell, GA and Kristen Cannon of Simpsonville, SC; three grandchildren, Alexa "Lexie" Larcinese, Ryan Larcinese, and Sarah Cannon; brother, Gerald O'Keefe; and sister, Patricia Curran.

Peter was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Margaret "Peggy" O'Keefe; two brothers, John O'Keefe and Kevin O'Keefe; and sister, Mary Reilly.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date to celebrate Peter's life and honor his memory.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter's memory may be made to CurePSP for research on the devastating disease that took the life of his wife, Peggy. http://psp.org

When I think of Peter, I always fondly think of three things...
1) he used to call me Jennifer Andretti because of the way I would drive down the street to visit Kristen when we were in high school. He also wouldn´t let me park in the driveway because my car leaked oil! Haha!
2) he called me his "second favorite redhead"
3) the way he cut a rug all night long at my wedding reception.
Peter was such a light in this dark world.
