Peter Rank, of Hatley, died on September 12, 2023 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was 62 years old. He was born on October 8, 1960 in Antigo, a son of Donald and Dorothy (Hayek) Rank.
He graduated from Antigo High School in 1979 and completed the mechanical drafting program at NorthCentral Technical College.
Pete worked for Wisconsin Public Service, Waukesha Bearings, and Fulton Performance Products from 1986 until his retirement in 2003.
He served as a town chairman for the town of Reid. Pete was proud of the many years he refereed for the WIAA and the many friends he had. He was especially proud of his crew that officiated the many state championship games. He was instrumental in starting the Pike Lake Little League Program. He was part owner of Not Bob's Bar in Antigo.
He loved fishing and enjoyed many trips to Canada with his brothers and nephews, He loved being a member of his community in Pike Lake and always felt he "lived in paradise".
Survivors include two sisters, Mary (Leslie) Rasmussen and Angie Rank both of Antigo; a brother, Patrick (Maria Carvalho) Rank of Madison; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Rank of Lakewood and Sandy Rank of Gillett; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Terence and Dennis; and a brother-in-law, James Buckley.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 24 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Phlox. A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday at the Reid Town Hall in Hatley from 2 to 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Pike Lake Rec Club, 175808 Feather Lane, Hatley, WI 54440
