I was saddened to hear the news about Uncle Peter. While we won't be able to attend the service, please know that our thoughts have been and will be with you. I also have fond memories of Uncle Peter at the lake up north and at the house on Bluff Drive. I only hope I can live up to the "Peter" namesake in the Schmelz family tradition and live as good of life as Uncle Peter did.

To the family of Peter Schmelz:

Shawna and I extend our deepest sympathies and prayers to the whole family. I was lucky enough to know Pete and know that he was loved and admired by all, especially his grandsons Dean and David who are close friends of mine and my wifes. You and your relatives cannot have been blessed with a more wonderful grandfather than Grandpa Pete, and Barb, what a wonderful father to have. Our thoughs and prayers are with you all and all of the family.

God Bless,

Dave & Shawna Pfau

My thoughts and prayers are with Jane and the rest of the family, with special regards to his wonderful sister, my Mother, Genevieve. Uncle Peter's laughter will echo fondly in my memories, and his kind smile will be the etched image. Blessings on you all in the letting go.
