Peter Francis Scully

On Sunday morning, February 25, 2024, Peter Francis Scully passed away surrounded by family. Peter is survived by his wife, Barbara (nee Meyler) and his children Barbara Orecchio (Michael), John (Bianca), Peter (Sharon) Mary Ann Schaefer (John), his beloved grandchildren Philomena, Kate, Mike, Jack, Ryan, Sean, Maisy, Quinlyn, Alistair, Sebastian, Tatum, Fiona, Windsor, Griffin, Esme, Linus, Bernard, Giovanna, and Margaret, and his great-grandchildren Charlotte, Harrison and Winifred, and sister Mary.
Peter is predeceased by his son Anthony, daughter Philomena, parents Bernard and Brigid (nee Whalen), and his brothers Sean and Bernard.
Peter was born in Ballymurphy, Borris, Co. Carlow on July 27, 1936 and moved to New York in the late 1950s. He worked as a carpenter and served in the Army before meeting and marringBarbara on April 25, 1964. He always used to tell us that he fell in love with her beautiful long blond hair. He worked as carpenter and project manager for over 50 years, most of his time employed by Structure Tone. They moved to Riverdale in 1974 where he lived the rest of his life.
Reposing Wednesday, February 28th from 4 to 7pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, NY 10471. Mass of the Christian burial 9:45am on Thursday, February 29th at St. Margaret of Cortona Church. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
