Peter "Pete" Joseph Tracey passed away peacefully at home on June 5, 2025, after a brief illness. He was born on September 23, 1935, in Carmel, California, and was a lifelong resident of the Monterey Peninsula. Pete was proceeded in death by his parents Peter Joseph Tracey, Sr., Josephine "Jo" Tracey and his sister Evelyn Houseman.Pete was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He leaves behind the love of his life and high school sweetheart Joyce to whom he was married 68 years. He is also survived by his three children, Randy (Athena), Martin (Teri) and Kimberlee Harber, four grandchildren, Shelby Tracey, Alexandra (Tracey) Arnell, Tawny (Tracey) Hopper, Sara (Tracey) Long and six great grandchildren.He was a graduate of Pacific Grove High School where he played on the football team and attended Monterey Peninsula College and Fresno State studying Architecture. Pete worked as an electrician ultimately purchasing Village Electric in Carmel which he ran with his family for over 40 years. He and his company were known for their high quality of service and gained most of their customers through word of mouth referrals.Pete and Joyce loved traveling and visited many locations domestically and abroad during their long marriage. Pete had many hobbies throughout his life including sail boat races on the Monterey Bay and racing his Triumph TR4 at Laguna Seca and across the state. He was also an avid fisherman on Monterey Bay and at his beloved Lake Almanor where the family has a cabin and he and Joyce spent most summers. He enjoyed gardening and his final years were spent happily tending to his garden and property in Carmel Valley.A private celebration of life will be held at a future date at the family cabin at Lake Almanor.
