Peter Carl Vinca

Peter Carl Vinca, 78, loving husband of Leona Rae Vinca for 60 years, entered his heavenly home on November 1, 2024. He was recently a resident of Thomas-Hood Veterans Center and formerly of Eminence, Ky. He was a native of Bradford, PA, born October 4, 1946, to the late Peter Frank and Doris Lyons Vinca. Peter was a Baptist minister and member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Smithfield Kentucky. He served 3 years in US Navy and was a member of the Naval Reserves. His favorite hobby was bee-keeping, but he also loved gardening flowers and vegetables, hunting, fishing and yard work. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife "Lee", children Michelle Matoka, Teri Hornung, and Wendy Vinca, brothers Patrick, wife Gladi, Neal, wife Cathy, and Kenneth, wife Pam. Peter was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, who will dearly miss him. There will be a Graveside Service held in Camp Nelson National Cemetery on Wednesday Nov. 6, at 1:30 PM with Military Honors. The Vinca family will greet friends from 12:00-1:00 PM Wednesday at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. Friends and family will honor him as pallbearers. "Taps: Day is done, gone the sun from the lake, from the hills, from the sky. All is well - safely rest. God is nigh."
