Peter Frederick Walter Schrof

A beloved dad, brother, uncle, friend and cat-dad, Peter Frederick Walter Schrof, of Forest Hill, MD passed away unexpectedly on June 10th, 2024. He was 59 years old and born on January 31st, 1965, in Wilmington, DE to the late Dr. William E.J. Schrof and Janet L. Schrof. He attended Unionville High School where he played football and lacrosse. He went on to attend Franklin and Marshall College briefly before completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University. At Penn State, he was a member of the club lacrosse team. He began his engineering career at Bethlehem Steel. While working there, he went on to obtain his Master of Business Administration at Loyola University in Maryland. He finished his career at Worthington Armstrong Venture, where he managed multiple departments in the plant.
He was the devoted father of Julia, Jack, and Jessica, and his extra children, Andrew Dougherty and Madison Scheimreif. He was a laid-back and caring man, who always put his family first. He never missed a game, practice, or event; even a middle school honors assembly. He coached all three of his children with their activities. He loved his cat, Mr. Poe Chow, dearly.
Pete was an easy-going, charismatic, and loyal man. He was fun to be around and passionate about good food and spending time with his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and camping. Pete loved to hang out with his grand pups, his brothers, friends from the workplace, and Firepit Friday crew. He recently visited Colorado, Maine, and Alaska with family, which renewed his interest in traveling. Pete will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his brothers/sisters-in-law; William E.J. Schrof, Jr./Catherine Schrof, Steve T. Schrof/Carrie Worton, Robert C. Schrof, Henry C. Schrof, and nieces and nephews; Leslie Schrof/Danny Coman, Rebecca Schrof, Lydia Schrof, Noah Schrof, Riley Schrof, Grace Schrof, Michael Schrof, and Lindsey Schrof.
A celebration of Pete's life will be held Sunday, July 21st, 2024, at 3 pm at Evans Funeral Chapel: 3 Newport Drive, Forest Hill, MD. Receiving time will begin at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Pete's name to the Semper Fi and America's Fund. https://thefund.org/donate/
