Petra fue una madre, hermana, abuela y amiga devota. Su vida fue un testimonio de su inquebrantable fe católica y del profundo cariño que sentía por quienes la rodeaban. Encontró su mayor alegría en la compañía de su familia, especialmente de sus queridos nietos, cuyas vidas enriqueció con su calidez, sabiduría e historias.
Le sobreviven sus hijos: Francisco Orono y Rafael Orono; queridas hijas: Rosa Medina, Silvia Valenzuela, Reyes Medina y Antonia Orona. También deja atrás a sus queridos hermanos: Unberto Hernández Olivas, Candelario Hernández Olivas, Miguel Hernández Olivas, Trinidad Hernandez Olivas, Pedro Hernandez Olivas, Maximiano Hernandez Olivas, Cresencio Hernandez Olivas y Alfonso Hernandez Olivas; y a sus queridas hermanas: Esperanza Hernández Olivas, y Aurelia Hernández Olivas.
El legado de Petra continúa a través de sus numerosos nietos, que eran la luz de su vida.
