Philip Seth Cantor, aged 77, died on February 28, 2025. He was born on July 26, 1947, in Patterson, NJ to Lillian and Robert Cantor. He was family centered, worked hard to support the Jewish community, and loved laughing and being with people.
Philip graduated from Rutgers University with both bachelor's and master's degrees. He had many passions including being a NY GIants fan and devoted follower of Rutgers basketball and football. He loved the NJY Camps where he met Jane, his wife of over 55 years.
Philip served as president of the Middlesex County Federation. He was an active member and lecturer of the Jewish historical society of New Jersey. As an educator he held many positions, his last position as mentor at Thomas Edison State University. Philip was an avid theater buff, as audience member, actor, and director. He was a collector of books and lover of his dogs. Philip was a storyteller, a piano man- and an all around mench. He was a beloved friend to many, known to connect with everyone he met, and whether for one minute or a lifetime he gave you his kindness, humor and warmth.
Philip S Cantor is survived by his wife, Jane Bruskin Cantor, father of David and Faith, Mollie and Barry, Jenny and Mark, and Daniel and Danielle and his 12 Grandchildren.
