Philip M. Durham age 72 of Coleridge, Nebraska died on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 near Belden, Nebraska as a result of an automobile accident.
Memorial services will be on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington, Nebraska with the Rev. Marilyn Hasemann officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Philip Durham was born in Denver, Colorado on January 27, 1953 to Joseph Ashby and Nellie Velda (White) Durham. He was a graduate from Denver High School and then traveled up to Wisconsin where he meet Diana. They were married and had one daughter, Jenny. Philip and Diana later divorced and he remarried Barb. Philip and Barb had two daughters, Brittany and Tiffiny. He moved to Nebraska, where he worked at Sioux Tools and Freeman Manufacturing. After retiring, he drove part-time for Hillcrest Nursing Home in Laurel.
Philip had a passion for being outdoors loving hiking, camping, fishing, and survival tactics. Philip loved to help anybody in need, included animals. Philip joy and passion was re-enacting living history from the Lewis and Clark Era. Philip loved to tinker, think out and creating many different things. He always was looking for the way to create something different. Philip loved spending time with his grandchildren and being around people.
Philip became a Shriner, where he had so much joy driving children to their appointments. He enjoyed being involved in foster care.
Philip is survived by four children Jenny (Dave) Rasico of Flippin, AR, Tiffiny (Adam) Vettel of Des Moines, IA, Brittany (Mike) Temme of Wayne, Jay; eight grandchildren Layla, Lorelie, William, Sophia, & Gabe Rasico, David Vettel, Lexi Temme, Addi Temme
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Nellie Durham, a brother Bob Durham and sister Jena Mulholland.
