Philip Fagan Jr., of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, at the age of 66.
Born on June 29, 1958, he was the son of the late Janet and Philip R. Fagan Sr.
Phil was a beloved husband to his wife, Nancy Fagan, and a loving father to his children, Phil and Jessica, who brought immense pride and joy to his life. He was a dear brother to Donna Fagan, Mary Ann Bannon, and Eileen Cripe (Kim) and held close to the memories of his late sister, Jamie Armitage, and late brother, Gary Fagan.
Phil Fagan lived a life filled with warmth, laughter, and a deep love for his family and everyone who had the joy of knowing him. He had a remarkable gift for making people laugh and smile, often lighting up a room with his jokes and charm.
Phil found his greatest joy in the time spent with his family. Some of his happiest memories were made during family beach vacations, filled with togetherness, stories, and laughter – moments he treasured dearly.
He loved being outdoors, especially fishing with the sun on his face, savoring the quiet and beauty of nature. Whether reading a good article, sipping a cortado, cheering on his favorite sports team, or spending time with friends, Phil lived with a joyful passion for the simple things that make life rich.
He was the father who showed up for every moment, big or small, encouraging, cheering, and supporting with his whole heart. His most significant source of pride and joy was his children, Phil and Jessica. He was endlessly proud of the people they had become and the love they carried forward. He was a devoted, supportive, loving husband.
Phil's legacy is one of love, strength, laughter, and joy. His spirit and light live on through his wife, children, family, and friends – and in that, he is never truly gone.
Phil's wishes are for all services to be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, McMurray, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Phil's memory to Surfrider Foundation – Cape Fear Chapter for his love of Carolina Beach and deep-sea fishing.https://capefear.surfrider.org

I recruited Phil to Edinboro and was his coach for four years. He was a great teammate and was universally loved by his teammates and coaches. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family.

I was saddened to learn of Phil´s passing. He was a wonderful teammate on and off the field. I had never played with anyone who exhibited the energy Phil did during games and practice. His attitude was infectious and he´ll be sorely missed by the Edinboro football community.
My deepest condolences to his wife and children.
May he rest in Peace,
Jim Krentz
