Philip Arthur Griffin 88 of Sanford passed away Sunday July 28, 2024. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm Monday August 5, 2024, at St Stephen Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Church Columbarium.
Mr. Griffin was born in Rutland, VT son of the late Patrick Philip Griffin and Arline Nora Daley Griffin. He was a member of the St Stephen Catholic Church Wednesday Morning Crew, Knights of Columbus, Extension Master Gardner Volunteers, and a Veteran of the US Navy. As a father of four girls, he was also co-leader with Ann of several different Girl Scout Troops. Phil loved spending time at Long Beach with his family.
Phil is survived by his wife Ann McKinley Hayward Griffin; daughters, Donna Marie Gast (Bill), Carole Griffin Oliver (Sam), Debra Griffin Rubin (Jeff), and Laura Griffin Musselwhite (Leon); grandchildren, Christine Oliver Masney (Andrew), Kathryn Oliver-Weigele (Gavin), Teresa Meredith Oliver, Meghan Gast Hudak (Nick), Gwenn Griffin Gast (Cayde), Brian Patrick Rubin, Zachary Alexander Rubin, Taylor Philip Musselwhite, and Caitlin Noel Musselwhite; great grandchildren, Lucas Masney and Cassidy Masney; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by sisters, Charlotte Reuschel and Kathleen Treacy.
