Philip E. Jacobowitz, age 85, passed away peacefully on, November 11, 2025 at his home in West Long Branch, NJ.

He was born on June 17, 1940 in Bronx, NY to Joseph Jacobowitz and Elsie Gross. After graduating from New York Law School in 1966, he went on to have a highly distinguished career in Family Law. Anyone who had Phil as an adversary would attest that he was a fierce advocate, extremely knowledgeable and a highly skilled orator. He was known as a New Jersey Super Lawyer, a testament to his exceptional skills and dedication to high ethical standards. Phil was an active member of the Monmouth County Bar Association, serving as President, Trustee and Chairperson of the Family Law Section.

Outside of work, Phil was a loving and caring family man. He always sacrificed himself for the happiness of others. To all who knew him, he was the most generous, loving, humble and kind person you could ever know. He was known for making his famous thin pancakes for his family on weekends, along with making his famous caesar salad dressing and croutons. He loved spending time on the family Whidbey Island farm with his wife Jean. He also loved skiing, tennis, racquetball, going to the beach, being an avid sports fan, traveling, sailing, coaching youth sports leagues, hiking and spending time with his family.

Phil was survived by his wife, Jean Schick Jacobowitz, his children, Joseph Jacobowitz, Evan Jacobowitz, (Katherine Sviokla), Shawn Jacobowitz (Lisa Ryden), Jennifer Drake (Muffin), Tiffinny Drake, Shannon Drake (Tom Thi), his grandchildren, Flynn, Kai, Jenna, Ava, Ashley, Jake, Jackson and Jasper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Jacobowitz and Elsie Gross, his first wife, Monika Klein and his brother Robert Jacobowitz.

There will be a celebration of life gathering to be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to either: Holiday Express, www.holidayexpress.org or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons, give.michaeljfox.org.
