Philip E. Jalbert

Philip E. Jalbert, 88, of Beverly, formerly of Salem, passed away December 8, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Beverly M. (Ruest) Jalbert. Born in Salem on November 9, 1933, he was the second youngest of eleven children of Edmond and Marie (LeBlanc) Jalbert. Philip was educated in Salem and graduated from St. Joseph's High School with the class of 1951.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean War as member of the United States Air Force from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1957.
Following his discharge, Mr. Jalbert continued his education by attending Salem State College and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Education in 1961. He earned two master's degree as well from Salem State.
Philip had been employed as an Elementary Teacher in the Beverly Public Schools for twenty-eight years. As well as being the principal of Prospect School until its closing. He retired from the school department in 1994. Prior to working in Beverly, Philip had worked as a Teacher in the Essex School System for four years.
Mr. Jalbert was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Beverly for many years and was also a former member of the Vittori-Rocci Post in Beverly. He was a talented gardener, who enjoyed working tirelessly in his gardens at his former home in Beverly for many years. Philip and his wife Beverly traveled on cruise ships often, especially in the Caribbean. Mr. Jalbert loved completing cross word puzzles and frequently met up with his wife Beverly and other couples for picnics at Lynch
Park.
In addition to his wife Beverly, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage, he is survived by three daughters, Lisa Chuma and her husband Michael of Ridgefield, CT, Pamela Morose of Delray Beach, FL and Sharon Collins and her husband Michael of Reading; two sons, Perry Jalbert of Rockport and Philip Jalbert of Beverly; ten grandchildren, Brent, Andrew, Harrison Chuma and Caitlin Rohr and her husband Doug, Madison Jalbert and Nicholas Jalbert and his wife Danielle, Owen and Griffin Collins and Anthony and Dylan Morose; one sister, Edith Fournier of Kingston, NH and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by three sisters, Annette Jalbert, Lorraine St. Pierre and Esther Waldron and six brothers, Gerard, Armand, Edmond, Aurele "Harry", Robert and Victor Jalbert.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, Beverly on Monday, December 13th at 10:30a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, Beverly. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Sunday, December 12th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Philip's name may be made to St. John the Evangelist Church.
