Philip E. Kelsey, 90, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at his home. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Philip was born on January 20, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, to Horace and Ruth (Sedgewick) Kelsey. At the age of 17, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy. In 1957, he married Sandra Sorenson in Cedar Rapids. Philip began his career with Office Service & Supply before becoming a clockmaker with Bentley Hahn Watch & Clock Repair.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Kelsey of Cedar Rapids; four children, Patrick (Teresa) Kelsey of Oak Harbor, Washington, David (Jennifer) Kelsey of Marengo, Iowa, Barbara (Andy) Livin of Marion, Iowa, and Linda Kelsey of Hiawatha, Iowa; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-greatgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by his mother; his father and stepmother; an infant daughter, Colleen; his sister, Patricia; brothers, Doug, Jon, and Bill; and sister-in-law, Ruby Kelsey.
