Philip John Marsala was born April 8, 1932 to Philip Marsala and Rita Evelyn Fontaine in Manhattan, New York. He resided in Brooklyn, New York and attended Erasmas Hall High School. At age seventeen, he entered the United States Air Force –flying was a lifelong passion –and his everlasting dream was to own his own aircraft.
After his honorable discharge in 1952, he married Yvonne Wright on September 14th in Fortuna, California. They resided in Los Angeles where he worked as a salesman primarily for medical supplies requiring travel through several states. He eventually decided to survey Salt Lake City, Utah where he thoroughly enjoyed residence continuously thereafter.
Philip was stern and tenacious, and had quite a sense of humor. He loved meat lover's pizza, Planters peanuts, and true NY bagels. His wife and family will always have many fond memories and will certainly miss his presence and his talented singing.
Philip's greatest love of a pet was a Yorkie named Scooter. They were inseparable! Unfortunately, Philip was diagnosed with lethal pneumonia and passed away on October 24, 2023. His beloved shadow, Scooter, passed just the week before.
Philip is survived by his wife, Yvonne; four sons: Glenn, Duane (Carolee), Craig and Randy (Vicky); six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
John 11:25-26 "Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die."
Philip's life will be honored at a family graveside service at Veteran's Memorial Park in Bluffdale, Utah.
