Philip (Phil) Reed McMorris, a father, brother, son, and friend, passed away on September 15, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on November 3, 1961, in Yonkers, New York, to Jane Jones (Pearson) and Micheal McMorris. Phil was the middle child, always holding a special place between his older brother, Steve, and younger sister, Holly. Phil proudly served in the United States Air Force for more than 20 years, dedicating himself to his country with honor and commitment. In 1984, a few years after joining the service, he married his first and only wife, Melissa Brokob, while stationed in beautiful Oahu, Hawaii. Together, they raised two daughters, Danielle and Alexandra, and shared countless adventures around the world before amicably divorcing after 24 years of marriage. Following his military service, he pursued a career as a design engineer, bringing the same discipline, creativity, and work ethic into his professional life. He later retired early at the age of 59, enjoying time for himself, his pups, and the things he loved most. Phil lived life on his own terms. Independent and strong-willed, he was never afraid to share his opinions, and those who knew him loved him for his honesty and authenticity. He was a true friend to those he held dear to his heart. He enjoyed life's simple pleasures such as spending time on the internet/social media, riding motorcycles, watching movies, playing his computer games (especially Candy Crush and Yahtzee), spending time with friends/family, reading, and having fun in his own unique way. He is survived by two loving daughters: Danielle Coates (McMorris) (her husband, Matthew Coates, and their son, Hadrian); and Alexandra McMorris (her husband, Brian Phillips, and their children, Aylin and Oliver). Phil also had an unwavering love for his dogs, Ethel and Lucy, who were truly his constant companions and source of joy. He now rests in peace, reunited with his late dog, Gypsie, who was more than a pet - she was his therapy dog and greatest comfort through many difficult times. Phil will be remembered for his independence, his humor, and his love for those closest to him. His family takes comfort in knowing he is with his sweet Gypsie and those he loved who have gone before him. He will be missed and forever remembered.
