Philip Dewey Mullen, age 46, of Nashville, TN sadly left us unexpectedly on July 29, 2024. He was born on August 16, 1977, in Owensboro, KY.
Philip attended Owensboro Catholic High School and excelled in both academics and athletics. He then attended Western Kentucky University where he was a proud member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He received his MBA from TN Tech and pursued a career as a CPA.
Philip was united in marriage to Christy and would have celebrated 19 years this month. Philip was a devoted member of Saint Matthew Catholic Church. He lived for his family and found no greater joy than spending time with them. He and Christy also found joy in attending music festivals.
One of Philip’s defining passions was his love of sports. He loved the University of Kentucky, the Atlanta Braves, and the Tennessee Titans. Philip also coached all three children in their various sports and is widely known around Nashville as Coach Phil.
Philip is preceded in death by his father, Vincent Jude Mullen.
Philip is survived by his loving wife Christy, three children, Tyler (17), Blake (14), and Madison (12), his mother, Phyllis Mullen; brothers, Vincent Jude (Nancy) Mullen II, and Brad Mullen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roger and Jan Crow; brother-in-law, Chad (Ashley) Crow; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 between 4-8 pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be at St Matthew Catholic Church on Saturday, Aug 3, 2024 at 11:00am, with visitation beginning 1 hour prior to Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Mullen Children Trust Fund, c/o Father Ryan High School by listing Philips name in the "Fund Designation"
