The Short Hills resident was a graduate of Millburn High School, Franklin & Marshall College, and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Philip's passion in life was practicing medicine. The board-certified cardiologist helped patients at the Lyons VA Medical Center and in private practice with Atlantic Cardiology Group at Morristown Medical Center. Throughout his almost four-decade career, he was known for his care and professionalism.
At home, Philip was an avid reader of history books and biographies. He loved old movies and good food. He was very involved in the lives of those he loved.
He is pre-deceased by his parents, Joseph G. And Norma A. Olivieri. He is survived by his son Joseph, daughter-in-law Emily, a granddaughter, and his dear friend Delose Randolph.
A visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 10 at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Chatham, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Philip's name may be made to: National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

In 2012, when I was experiencing chest pains, I went to E.R. They checked me and were about to send me home. I told them I had a cardiologist but he wasn' t available. Dr. Olivieri, who I never met, came from across the street, examined me and did testing. He found cardiac issues and kept me there till I had a catheritization which indicated a need for a triple bypass. I kept Dr. Olivieri as my cardiologist till he retired. I dare say I wouldnt be alive today if not for Dr. Olivieri. God bless your soul Philip Olivieri. - Wm. Dobbins

My name is Lorraine Flynn. I have been a cardiac nurse at Morristown Memorial Hospital for over 25 years. And I have known Dr. Oliveri throughout that time. He was always very nice, and cared deeply for his patients. I always called him "Dr. O".. and he seemed to get a kick out of that. He always spoke very highly of his grandchildren.
