Jean A. Honan

Jean A. Honan (nee Martin) of Brick, NJ, formerly of Berkeley Heights, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home, with her loving family by her side, on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the age of 93.
Jean was born in Elizabeth, NJ, the daughter of Helen (nee Leight) and James Martin. She had resided in Scotch Plains, NJ and many years in Berkeley Heights, NJ before moving to Brick.
In her earlier years Jean had been employed as an electronics specialist for Beckman Facilities in Mountainside, NJ. She also spent some time working at Berkeley Florist in Berkeley Heights, which was a great compliment to her love of flowers.
Jean shared a beautiful life with her devoted husband of 74 years, Joseph Honan. Together, they created a life full of adventure, laughter, and enduring love. Their shared passion for boating brought them countless joyful memories, especially during their later years, when they continued to navigate the waters well into their 80s aboard their beloved houseboats.
Jean and Joseph were also enthusiastic travelers who delighted in exploring the world side by side. They embarked on 17 cruises together, among many other treasured vacations, always embracing the excitement of new experiences and the joy of shared discovery. She also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, where her good luck shined through.
Above all, Jean will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her kind heart, and her unwavering spirit. Her legacy of love, adventure, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her beloved husband Joseph, her loving daughters, Debi Lanzner, Denise Mohns and her husband Larry, and Dianne Honan. She is also survived by her six cherished grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as many loving relatives and friends.
The visitation will be held at Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave., Summit, NJ on Sunday, July 6th, from 3-6 PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Little Flower Church, 310 Plainfield Ave., Berkeley Hts. on Monday, July 7th, at 10 AM followed by the burial at St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery.
