Philip Osborne Obituary

Visit the Lane Funeral Home and Crematory - South Crest Chapel - Rossville website to view the full obituary.
Phil Osborne, Jr., 81, of East Ridge, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 20, 2025, at a local hospital. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, Phil lived a life full of joy, service, and song.

Born in Leakesville, North Carolina, Phil moved to East Ridge as a young boy and made it his lifelong home. He graduated from East Ridge High School in 1962 and shortly after, answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Navy. A proud Vietnam Era veteran, Phil's patriotism and dedication were hallmarks of his character.

Following his military service, Phil spent over two decades with Combustion Engineering. After retirement, he continued to keep busy, Phil never liked to sit still. Whether it was cutting grass (which he genuinely loved), singing, dancing, or visiting with others, he brought joy and energy wherever he went.

A faithful member of Gateway Baptist Church, Phil served as an usher and loved lifting his voice in song during services. His faith was central to his life, and he lived out his beliefs by caring for others, especially the elderly, whom he frequently visited in nursing homes, often bringing comfort through music.

Phil's vibrant personality and natural showmanship shined brightest through his love of entertaining. Known by many as an Elvis impersonator, he shared his talents across the region and was proud to have been named Entertainer of the Year as an Independent performer in Gatlinburg. Whether he was belting out classics, dancing with flair, or simply telling a great story, Phil had a unique way of making everyone feel special.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip Meril Osborne, Sr and Elizabeth Wilson Osborne; and brother, Weldon Osborne, II.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Joy Osborne; son, Shane (DeAnna) Osborne; brother, Victor Osborne; sisters, Phyllis Quinn and Beth (Bobby) Walker; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Ellie.

Condolences may be shared and live webcasting of Phil's funeral services will be available by visiting www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 28th at 2:00p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor James Helton officiating.

Interment will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, where the U.S. Navy and Bradley County Veterans Honor Guard will perform military honors.

The family will receive friends Monday from 4-8p.m. and Tuesday from 12 noon until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville, GA.
