With broken hearts, we convey the passing of Philip Pressley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Philip passed away on May 14, 2025, at the age of 63. A Haywood County native, he was born to Robert and Doris Pressley on May 31, 1961
In October 1980, Philip married his soulmate, Debra Pressley. Married for 45 years, they enjoyed rides on the motorcycle and overnight trips to Tennessee.
Philip dedicated his life to both his family and serving the Lord. When he wasn't with family, he preached the Gospel anywhere he went. He traveled in and out of the country, preaching and performing missionary work. He loved to spend time with family and take family trips to the lake. Philip loved unconditionally and would help his family any way he could. No words could describe the goodness he held in his heart and the love and wisdom he shared. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Pressley, and his grandson, Ryan Zander Arwood.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Pressley. His children, Philip Dewayne Pressley and Tabatha Pressley. His grandchildren, Cydnie Pressley, Takoda Rogers, Trinity Robinson, Jaycee Rathbone, Kyndell Pressley, Kayden Pressley, Kayleigh Pressley, and Lexi Pressley. His great-grandson, Myles Rogers. His mother, Doris Pressley. His sisters Joy Sharp, Hope Denny, and Rebekah Medford. And his best friend and brother-in-law, Keith Henson (Donna), and family.
Funeral services will be held Monday May 19th, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Smoky Mountain Cremations and Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Kenny Banks, Bro. Steven Burnette and Rev. Neil Roland will officiate. A private burial will held following the services.
When asked by his granddaughter about his favorite color, he would always say it was "love." He was so very loved and will be greatly missed.
