Philip “Daniel” Skelley, 34, of Reidsville, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025.
A graveside inurnment will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Pastor Chris Cox officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. After the service the family will receive friends and extended family at the home of Judy Ware, 153 Brooks Road, Reidsville.
Daniel was born in Rockingham County and was a graduate of Chatham High School. He received an associate’s degree from Danville Community College in Industrial Machinery. He worked with Bibey Machines and for ITG Brands the last two years. He grew up with a great love for music, playing in the high school band and then getting his first guitar at the age of 12. He was an excellent guitarist and played occasionally in different bands. His childhood and adulthood were spent attending music festivals and seeing various bands, aiding in his love for all types of music. He could often be found outdoors, fishing, paddle boarding or just enjoying nature. Daniel enjoyed woodworking and would make beautiful bread bowls and canes. His other great love was for animals, having ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs, and a pet snake.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charlie “Chubb” Daniel Pulliam; paternal grandmother, Lee Walker; stepbrother, Jacob Hall Martin; and uncle, Chris Hildebrandt.
He is survived by his father, Philip Skelley and girlfriend, Tonja Reynolds; mother, Amy P. Martin and husband, Mark; girlfriend, Hailey Dowless and soon to be son, Rory; maternal grandmother, Judy Ware; aunts, Cheryl Spangenberger, Jill Wilson; uncle, Randy Hildebrandt; along with special cousins, Shawna, Brandon, Jeremy and Holly.
