Philip E. Smith, 92, of Kring Point Road, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 10th.
He was born January 13, 1934, in Auburn, NY, son of John Edward and Elsie Grant Smith.
Phil was the sole proprietor of Lowville Plumbing and Heating and drove bus for Lowville Academy and Central School District and Alexandria Central School District. He enjoyed various outdoor activities in addition to traveling and spending winters in Arizona.
Philip is survived by his wife, Betty (married 72 years), a son, Martin Smith, Prineville, OR, two daughters, Karen (Mark) Klose, Fredonia, NY and Colleen (Mario) Johnson, Payson, AZ, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a sister, Sylvia Wilson. He was predeceased by two sisters, Harriet Surdam and Hilda Beyor, and a grandson, Michael Klose.
In lieu of services, immediate family will hold a celebration of life.
Memorial donations may be made in Philip’s name to the Alexandria Bay Joint Fire District Ambulance Service, 110 Walton Street, Alexandria Bay, NY 13607.
