Philip Travis Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
Philip was born in Shelbyville, Kentucky on August 15, 1960, and raised in Frankfort. He was a graduate of Frankfort High School. Philip attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where he graduated with a doctoral degree. He retired as the owner and operator of Advance Dental Center with two locations in Louisville. Following retirement, he worked for the federal government as a mobile dentist for the underprivileged. He was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church.
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Christopher Rucker; mother, Priscilla Blockson Gershman; sister, Michelle Woolum (Michael), and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Philip Ray Travis, and step-father, Irvine Gershman.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends. The honorary pallbearer will be Jack Burch.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association or Franklin County Humane Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.

I knew Phil since Childhood. He was such an awesome person and had such a positive attitude in life. I use to have a big crush on him in middle school. I will certainly miss talking with him. Love and prayers for his family and friends.
