Philip Walker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Staton-Borowski Funeral Home on Dec. 19, 2025.
Warren-Philip T. Walker, age 91, entered into eternal rest Monday, December 15, 2025 at home, surrounded by angels and his devoted family. He was born December 2, 1934 in Youngstown, the son of Roscoe and Wilma (Manley) Walker, and was the eldest grandson of Lucy and Edward Manley. Edward served as one of the Buffalo Soldiers.
Philip graduated from Austintown Fitch High School and retired after 40 years of service as a supervisor with General Motors in 2008. He belonged to the VFW in Farrell, Pennsylvania and the Elks Lodge in Canton, Ohio. A big sports fan, Philip travelled with his wife to California, New York, Texas, Florida and other places to watch the professional football games; Steelers were his favorite. Known for his love of automobiles, he was an avid collector of pictures from the 1940s and model cars. More than anything else, he loved his wife Doris, and they enjoyed watching action movies together, travelling, playing his trumpet and helping with the garden.
Precious memories of Philip live on with his beloved wife, Doris A. (Cannimore) Walker, whom he married February 13, 2002; four children: Gina Walker-Dancy (Donnie) of Howland, Lisa Walker of Youngstown, Philip T. Walker, Jr. (Lori) of Warren, Sheraill Fresher of Warren; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends; and his very special friend, Arthur McDonald of New Castle, Pennsylvania.
His parents precede him in death.
Calling hours are 4:00 to 5:00 pm Monday, December 22, 2025 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, where services will begin at 5:00 pm Monday, with Bishop Sammie L. Smith officiating. All who knew and loved Philip are welcome to attend and celebrate his incredible life.
Philip will be laid to rest at a later date at Tod Homestead Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road NE, Warren, Ohio 44483, 330-394-6200. Dedicated To Serving Your Loved Ones. This obituary may be viewed and condolences sent to www.statonborowskifuneralhome.com
