Philip "Phil" Robert Wetz, 78 of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away March 7, 2025, at Akron General Hospital following an extended illness.
Phil was born January 5, 1947 in Wooster, Ohio and was the son of Russell and Helen (VanSickle). His wife Linda preceded him in death. Phil was a 1965 graduate of Wooster High School and served in the Ohio National Guard. He was a pubic servant working at the Wooster Police Department, Wooster Fire Department, and the Wayne County Sheriff's Department. Phil also worked at Rubbermaid and worked security at several establishments including MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Phil is survived by his sons, Joseph (Cristie) Wetz of Mansfield, Andrew (Laura) Wetz of Hilliard and Troy (Samantha) Sword of Ashland, Ky. Eight Grandchildren & seven great-grandchildren a brother Joseph.
Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his brothers: Russell, Larry and Carl.
At Phil's request, there will be no services.
