Christina Hilmes Wetz entered this world on May 29, 1980, in Oklahoma City, departing from us far too soon on April 23, 2024.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Edgar Wetz, and Jean McBryde, maternal grandparents Edwin Hilmes, Sr. and Maria Cortez Reagan, as well as three cherished uncles.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted parents: Dolores Hilmes, and Craig Wetz, and stepmother Shawna Klema; her brother Charles Hilmes; and her grandfather Wayne McBryde. She also leaves behind numerous beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins on both sides of her family who held her dear to their hearts.
Chris graduated from Putnam City West High School and found fulfillment in her roles at Foley's, Homeland, and Goodwill, where she relished the camaraderie of her coworkers.
An enthusiast of various art forms, Chris excelled in drawing and puzzles. She dedicated her time to volunteering at nursing homes and participating in the Special Olympics.
Among her treasured pastimes were the weekly dances at the Oklahoma Foundation for the Disabled and accompanying her father to his musical performances, where her vivacious spirit lit up the room. She eagerly anticipated embarking on adventures across the country with both her parents.
Known for her warm smile, infectious laughter, and boundless kindness, Chris never encountered a stranger.
Her final resting place will be in the "Garden of Angels" at Rose Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her honor can be made to the Oklahoma Foundation for the Disabled.
