Mr. Phillip Kent Ausburn, 72, of Cumming, GA, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024. Born in Atlanta to Claude Ausburn and Helen Glosson, Phillip lived a life marked by dedication to his family, country, and work. In 1971, he married his beloved wife, Joan Loe Ausburn, in Avondale Estates, and shortly afterward, he joined the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country.
Phillip built a distinguished career as an electrical engineer. As a co-owner of AXI and later an engineer at Rad Source, Phillip was a key figure in developing innovative X-ray products now used worldwide by businesses and military organizations. His contributions earned him numerous U.S. patents, and he found great fulfillment in mentoring young engineers, sharing his expertise and passion for the field.
For the last 25 years, Phillip and Joan have called Cumming, Georgia home. Phillip is survived by his devoted wife of over 53 years, Joan; his children, Jeffrey Ausburn (Lucie) and Peter Ausburn; his grandchildren, Ethan Ausburn, Hadley Ausburn, Henry Ausburn, and Ivy Ausburn; and his brother, Mark Ford (Melissa) and William.
