Phillip Dale Bennett, 81, of Norris City passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at his residence in Norris City. He was born on January 20, 1944, in Dahlgren, IL the son of Billy Joe and Myrtle (Coker) Bennett. Phillip married Sandra Deen on July 22, 1984, and they shared over 41 years of marriage together. He was an Iron Worker for the Local 498 for many years. He also loved horses, tinkering, horseback riding, and farming.
Phillip is survived by his wife, Sandra (Deen) Bennett of Norris City, IL; his children, Cliff (Jennifer) Bennett of Davis Junction, IL, Marty (Dawn) Bennett of New Mexico, and Steve (Katrina Moss) Deen of Norris City, IL; several grandchildren; and a niece, Tammy (Steve) Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Rejino Deen, and a sister Annamae Weatherholz.
Keeping with Phillip’s wishes no services will be held. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be may to the family and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home at 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL 62821.
