WASHINGTON, N.C. - Phillip Lawrence Bryant, born on September 6, 1983, in Ahoskie, North Carolina, passed away on May 27, 2025, in Washington, North Carolina, at the age of 41. Phillip's life was a testament to his unwavering strength, boundless kindness, and a deep love for his family and his faith.
From an early age, Phillip's vibrant spirit and inquisitive nature were evident. He was a man who never met a stranger, always ready with a warm smile and a listening ear. His ability to connect with people was as natural as his love for the great outdoors. Whether he was fishing, riding his 4-wheeler, or simply rambling through the woods with his beloved dog, Buddy, Phillip found peace and joy in nature.
Professionally, Phillip was a man of many talents. As a dedicated real estate agent with Waterfront Land Partners in Washington, North Carolina, he helped countless families find their dream homes. His entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly through his passion for photography, capturing the breathtaking landscapes of the Washington Waterfront and the cherished moments of weddings. Phillip's creativity extended to his business, "Immunity Farms," where he cultivated elderberries, transforming them into healthful honey and syrup. His elderberry honey became a beloved staple locally and in cities like Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and Greenville, South Carolina.
Phillip's culinary skills were renowned among friends and family where he delighted in cooking dishes ranging from fried turkeys and brisket to his signature "Country Boy Cordon Bleu." His love for cooking led him to open "Poppy's Smokehouse," a restaurant named in honor of his grandfather.
A devoted member of Covenant Church in Greenville, North Carolina, Phillip's faith was the cornerstone of his life. His love for his Lord was evident in every act of kindness and generosity he extended to those around him.
Phillip was preceded in death by his cherished grandparents, David and Jessie Mae Bryant of Woodland, North Carolina, and Marvin and Magdalene Davis of Conway, North Carolina.
He is survived by his loving mother, Peggy Mooring, and stepfather Wayne of Chocowinity, North Carolina; father, Tim Bryant of Woodland, North Carolina; beloved daughter, Avery Napier of Washington, North Carolina; and brother, Wayne Bryant and wife Katie of Henrico, North Carolina. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews Brandi Bryant of Conway, North Carolina, Madison Bryant of Woodland, North Carolina, David Bryant of Ahoskie, North Carolina, Mary Paige Bryant, Carson Wiltsie, Jake Wiltsie, all of Henrico, North Carolina, and great-niece Josie Mae Ezzell of Conway, North Carolina. His extended family includes stepsisters and brothers Ashley Holloman, Adam Barnes, Phillip Barnes, Storey Bradley, Paul McDermott, and Jimmy McDermott.
A service to celebrate Phillip's life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Woodland Cemetery in Woodland, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phillip's memory directly to The Shepherd Center, 2020 Peachtree Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30309 or online by clicking here.
