The family of Phillip V. Cacioppo mourns the passing of an incredible man, husband,
father, brother, stepfather, uncle, and friend on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. Phil was born on
July 23, 1949, to Thomas and Josephine Cacioppo of New York. After graduating from
Monsignor McClancy High School, where he was best known for his participation on the
debate team, he attended Saint John's University, Hillcrest, NY, until his 1971 graduation
as a business major. He joined the US Navy afterward, and this experience inspired his
life-long penchant for travel.
Phil's mother, recognizing his potential, guided him toward a career in insurance, a field
in which he excelled for over fifty years. His work was not just a job but a calling, where
he formed enduring friendships and professional connections across the globe. Phil's
dedication was such that retirement was never a consideration; he continued to serve as
an Executive Vice President for Amwins until his health declined. His contributions to
the insurance industry have had a lasting impact on the business community.
Phil is survived by his loving wife, Beatriz, and beloved pets, Dante and Rain; his two
children Phillip John (Kate) of NY and Alexandra of NJ; stepson Stefano Ritondale
(Maria and children) of Spain; his sister Phyllis deAngelis of FL and brother Joseph
Cacioppo (Susan) of AZ; nephews Joseph Inzerillo (Jacqueline) of NY and Thomas
Inzerillo (Colleen) of NC; nieces Annemarie Wise (Phil) of FL and Nicole Cacioppo
(Andrew and children) of NY, and his many cherished friends. He is predeceased by his
sister, Anita Long, as well as his most cherished Uncle John and Aunt Jean Graziano. His
legacy and love will live on through all of us.
Phil was extremely generous to his family, and he will be fondly remembered for his
humor, profound storytelling, gift of gab, intellect, curiosity, zest for life, and fun-loving
spirit. His presence brought joy and love to all of those around him, leaving us with
cherished memories.
A memorial to honor Phil's life is scheduled for July 15, 2024, from 10 am – 2 pm at
Roslyn Heights Funeral Home, 75 Mineola Ave. Roslyn, NY 11577. In addition, a mass
in his memory will be held at iconic St. Patrick's Cathedral, 5 th Ave., NY, on June 18,
2025, at noon, providing a fitting tribute to a man of faith.
In place of flowers, donations may be made in Phil's name to the 'Wounded Warrior
